If so, you could try the modifier keys on the other side of the spacebar from the ones you normally use, to see if that makes a difference. If you have a full-sized Apple Extended keyboard (from an old iMac) such as I use, or a Logitech or other 3rd-party keyboard with all those keys, you’ll have a double set of Command and Option keys: one of each on each side of the Space bar.
